This is a new qualifying league for the Ultimate Players Association (UPA) 2010 Youth Club Championship (YCC) teams. That means that any player wanting to play on the Seattle YCC teams in 2010 can become eligible for tryouts by participating in this league. We will also provide the league in the late spring/early summer of 2010. Players who participate in either of the leagues will be eligible to try out for the 2010 YCC teams.
***Please Note: Although 8th graders are encouraged to participate in the Youth Club Draft Hat league, the DiscNW Youth Strategic Committee has adopted a policy that players must have completed their 9th grade year in order to try out for the Seattle YCC teams, effective 2010 YCC.
Please click on the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) link at the top of this page for more information about the league, including its relationship to the YCC.
The league fee is $20. Financial aid is available. Click on the link below to register for the league. Remember to register by August 26 if you want to be part of the draft (late registrations will be accepted until September 12, but those players will be placed on a team by the League Coordinator).
Because this is a UPA-sanctioned event, there are a few extra paperwork requirements. Players must submit the following to their coach:
- A UPA waiver
- A UPA Medical Authorization Form
- Proof of UPA membership (UPA ID number) OR a one-time player fee of $5 (payable to the UPA). Click here for information on UPA membership. It is an annual membership, so players who sign up now will be asked to renew in January (including paying another membership fee).
The Official Rules of Ultimate, 11th Edition will be used for the league. Click on the link for a list of useful rules tools.
All players must complete a DiscNW waiver prior to participating in any league games.
Dogs are not allowed at any Seattle parks or athletic fields. We risk losing our field use privileges if there are dogs at our events, so please leave your pets at home.
League-specific rules will be posted here as they become available.
