The men's league is a hat league that was started in 2003 to provide more opportunities for men's ultimate in the Seattle area. Historically, there are more men interested in playing summer hat league than spots available. The men's hat league is a way to provide another option for summer ultimate. This year the league will be geared towards intermediate and advanced players and college players home for the summer.
First games scheduled for Monday, June 14th at Magnuson Park Sports Meadow. We will hold a captains' draft for all eligible (ie, paid up) players during the week of June 7 thru June 11. Depending on registration numbers (currently approx 40 paid and 60 unpaid), the league will have as many teams as we can field with a reasonable roster per team (approx 12), which in the past meant 6-8 teams.
Please ensure you are paid up prior to Monday, June 7th to guarantee you are eligible for the draft.
Finally, attendance has been an issue in past years; please make sure you are committed to making at least 75% of the games - nothing sucks more than showing up for a game to find only 3 dudes showed up.
- All games will be played on Monday evenings at 6:30pm
- The season starts on June 14 and will finish on August 2
- Captains will participate in a pre-season draft to select players for teams
All games will be played on the grass Sports Meadow at Magnuson Park in Seattle.
The player fee is $38for the 2010 season. Online regstration is now open. Players 18 years and older are eligible to play in the league. Payment may be made online or by sending a check to DiscNW, Attn: Summer Mens League, PO Box 85112, Seattle, WA 98145.
We will be using the 11th Edition of the Rules of Ultimate for the league.
Please start and finish your games on time!
