This year, our DiscNW League and championship series will also serve as the USAU State Championship series.  This allows all athletes participating in the league to be eligible for the 2017 USAU YCC event.

Recent changes to the YCC eligibility guidelines require all YCC team members to play in a USAU state championship event.  The new guidelines were released after the Fall Boys HS season so those athletes were granted an automatic exception. JV players and middle school players were also granted an automatic exception.

To ensure that all Seattle HS ultimate athletes are eligible for the 2017 YCC event DiscNW has collaborated with USAU to designate our Spring Girls league a USAU championship qualifying event.  This means all varsity players will need to sign a USAU waiver in addition to the DiscNW waivers. We will be sharing player’s names and emails with USAU as part of the process.  Players may receive an email from USAU acknowledging receipt of this information.  This email will contain USAU membership number which will be required of any YCC team member.  You can view USAU's email privacy policy here.

The collaboration between USAU and DiscNW that makes this possible will not raise the cost for participation in this league this year. Any new costs for sanctioning the league will be paid by DiscNW as part of our commitment to continued low cost access to youth ultimate in the Seattle area.

In essence, players in the league this season should not expect a significant change in their experience.

If you have specific questions or concerns about these changes to league please email youth.director@discnw.org
