All schools must register their teams at this website. Click on the "Register Now" link below to register. The registration deadline is Wednesday, September 15. If you need support techical support for registering, read this illustrated tutorial.
Online game score and spirit score reporting is also required. You must be listed as a coach on your team's webpage in order to report scores, which requires a DiscNW user profile. The tutorial explains how to add coaches to your team webpage, and how to report scores once a coach has been added. If you still need help, contact your League Coordinator at the email address listed above.
|In the spring of 2010, coaches in the DiscNW middle school spring league met to discuss ideas for recruiting and supporting girls in Ultimate. Click here to read the notes from that forum.|
This league will use the Official Rules of Ultimate, 11th Edition. If you need a rules booklet for your use on the field, or if you would like a rules quiz, please contact your League Coordinators at the email listed at the top of this page.
There are also several league-specific guidelines. If you did not receive a copy of the Middle School Ultimate Information Sheet at the coaches' meeting, please contact your League Coordinator. You are responsible for knowing these guidelines.
With the exception of service dogs or service dogs in training, dogs are not allowed at the Ingraham High School fields.
New for 2010, the required gender ratio on the field is 4 boys:3 girls. Historically, some teams have had difficulty recruiting enough girls to match this ratio at each game. If and only if a team has 3 or fewer girls at a game, then the team short on girls may call a 5:2 ratio on its offensive points (i.e., when receiving the pull), and the defensive team should match that ratio, unless coaches made an alternative agreement prior to the game. (Note that ratios larger than 5:2 are not permitted.) New for 2010, under no circumstances may a team with 4 or more girls play with fewer than 3 girls on the field, unless it is matching the ratio of an offensive team short on girls. When the team short on girls is on defense (i.e., pulling the disc), if it does not have enough players of each gender to match the ratio of the receiving team, then it must play with fewer players against the receiving team's seven players (i.e., “play down”). In other words, the defensive team cannot play with more girls or more boys than the receiving team has on the field, unless the coaches came to an alternative agreement before the game began.
