Masters League - Old Guys . . . there's still time

If you're over 30, DiscNW's Masters Hat League is for you!

Starting on July 10th and going for six monday nights the old and achy converge on the Foster High School stadium (aka the finest turf located in the roughest turf) from 6:30 - 8:30pm.

Nowhere else will you find a finer collection of braces, a stronger odor of IcyHot, or a higher frequency of the utterance "ya know, back in the day . . . ".

If you're old enough to partake in such fun, register now because you're likely to forget if you don't!!!

Foster High at 6:30?!?!?  Ouch.

One or the other is rough, but both together sounds like a commuting pain for us oldsters north of downtown.

Re: Masters League - Old Guys . . . there's still time

So, just to confirm--Masters and Men's Hat leagues are both happening the same day of the week and at the same time?  Not going to make it so we can do both?

and, unless my eyesight is failing me, your link above leads to the Men's Hat League page, not the Master's Hat league.  Or am I just old and feebleminded?

Foster Stadium & 630pm worked well last year.  Trust me, you'll feel like a gazelle running on that turf! smile

As for Mens Hat & Masters Hat on same night/time... I second the notion, please have them either on different nights or at consecutive times like last year.

Yep, wrong link.  I'm getting old and my eyesight is failing me.

Yes, I believe it will be a repeat of last year's masters/mens hat league schedule.  That's to say that they will both be held on Monday nights at Foster High School in Tukwila.  Masters will run 6:30 - 8:30 and Mens Hat will go from 8:30 - 10:30.

Why is Masters limited to Men?    I'm over 30 and want to play with the 30+ crowd.

I think that's a great question Jo.  I'm also 30+.  Has the idea of co-ed master's ever been discussed?

Jo and Melanie - It doesn't have to be men only, it becomes mixed as soon as you sign up.  The more the merrier!

Cool.  Thanks for being "Open".  What is the concept of being "crushed"?   Don't think that's ever happened to me before.   Looking forward to it!

Well, if Larry was signed up maybe he could be joining forces with Turbo.  Luckily for Larry, registration is STILL OPEN even though teams are up. Anyone who signs up between now and the start of the league will be assigned to a team (BUT you can help the League Coordinator out by letting me know which team you would like to play for).

Re: Masters League - Old Guys . . . there's still time

To those who are registered, you have been assigned to a team and teams have a schedule posted.

To those who aren't registered, it's not too late!  Sign up today so we can get you assigned to a team before monday's games!!  See the earlier post about indicating your team preference if you have one.

Geezers Got Guts - let's continue the aliterative theme and wear green.  Maybe grey?  To hell with it, let's be red!

Green... definitely green.

First, let me concede that the many perogatives of assuming the heavy mantle of leadership probably includes determining jersey color.  Nonetheless, for what its worth, I would like to mildly protest as this geezer (1) prefers black and, in fact, (2) doesn't own any green jerseys.

I know of at least a couple places that sell jerseys for $2 or $3 each!  It's called "Value Village."  Highly recommended.

Darren, not only is the mantle of leadership heavy - it's also green smile
Think of this as an opportunity to expand your wardrobe - rather than lament your lack of green jersey, celebrate your reason for acquiring one!

Yogi will bring black and blue (shirts) for Monday's game and decide on an appropriate color then (saffron, gold, grizzly?).

I'll give a ride from Fremont area.  I'm only playing Masters, so I'll be leaving then.  Call me to arrange.
