Re: UPA Tournament Announcement – Sectionals (Mixed Division)

This year, more than ever, sectionals should be a wide open tournament - it's a great opportunity for league teams to play a lot of games over a weekend and, possibly, qualify for regionals which are also held in Burlington.  The more teams that participate with on-time rosters the more bids our section receives to regionals - let's show the rest of the region that Seattle/BC is where it's at for mixed ultimate!

BTW - the original post says 2-3 teams will qualify for regionals but that's based upon past years where only 5-8 teams played at WA/BC sectionals.  If we truly get 14+ ontime registered teams then the bids to regionals will undoubtedly be higher.

Way over here on the other coast I heard that Shazam may not make a run this year, true?  If not, who will be the coed representative from Seattle?  Anyone...?

The playing field has been leveled so it's really up for grabs. There are 30+ co-ed teams in Seattle with none *consistently* dominating the fields.

FWIW, all Portland coed teams compete in Oregon Sectionals.  It isn't even a question.  Time for more Seattle teams to step up & make our Sectionals a bigger event.  On-time rosters are the key to getting more representation at Regionals (on our home turf!).

You live in Oregon you bastard.
Quit stumping for Washington.

Remember, WA mixed teams,  Sectionals is boring and no one ever has fun.  It's also expensive. Stay home.

Sincerely, the OR Sectionals Coordinator.

P.S. If anyone knows how to get in touch with Northern California and Big Sky, let me know.

Perfect!  See, even the merest mention of getting more Seattle teams to play at sectionals has our neighbors from Oregon quaking in their boots!!  Seattle is the sleeping giant that no one wants awakened smile

Ah, but I've been playing for a Washington team for 2 seasons now.  Strange, isn't it?  They love me & I love 'em back.

It sure is fun to annoy you Kyle smile

The folks over at www.boiseultimate.com might know how to get in touch with Big Sky.  I think Big Sky sectionals are going to be in Boise this year.
