Shoreline Bond Passes!!!

The $18.5 million Shoreline parks bond passed with about 70% of the vote. Among other open space, parks, and trails projects, the bond will pay for improvements at several athletic fields including installation of synthetic turf at Twin Ponds and an irrigation system at Cromwell Park.

Thank you for voting.  There will be more summons for Field Advocacy in the future.

Irrigation at Cromwell... wow.

In a way that's too bad... Cromwell in the summer is the ultimate equivalent of Lambeau in December.

Re: Shoreline Bond Passes!!!

Good question.  The latest info I have is that Twin Ponds will be converted to field turf by the end of 2007.  In other good news, Shoreline A+B is getting converted right now.
It will be ready possibly by Sept 1, certainly by Oct 1.  And:  Cromwell may not actually turn out to be a sports field, after all is said and done.  It might be some sort of "gateway park" for the City of Shoreline.  Finally:  the city and the school district are trying to put together a shared-use policy for the school district fields.  This means that all the fields at the elementary, middle, and high schools could possibly become open for our use in the evenings, while many of them will be converted to field turf.  All in all, lots of fields are becoming available in Shoreline.
