United Ultimate League (UUL): 6v6, 3:3 mixed professional ultimate?

Hey all,

I'm curious to know what the DiscNW community thinks about the new mixed professional league that was proposed/announced last month. I wrote a blog about how the UUL could be good for youth development in the U.S., but there are lots of other aspects (good and bad) of the proposal that are worth discussing.

What do you make of it?

Does anyone know the main leader, Todd Curran, well enough to assess whether the initial sole-owner model might evolve to something more progressive/innovative in professional sports?

If you're enthusiastic about the initiative, you can back the $50k UUL Kickstarter in its final 36 hours. If our region can get them to $55k the League has offered to host a showcase series in Seattle well before the regional teams begin a full season.

If you're not supportive, I for one would be interested to hear why, and to discuss ways in which the UUL, AUDL, or some future professional league could advance gender equity in the sport.
