Re: Mixed Sectional Updates

I'm just saving myself for tomorrow and keeping my legs fresh.

How'd the game go? Did GT look good or did Guard have trouble integrating all the pick-ups?

Re: Mixed Sectional Updates

I heard they needed some really fast guy to break the game open for them, but he wasn't around.  Without him in the lineup, everybody's hearts were crushed and they just couldn't quite get it together when it counted the most, even though they almost put it together.

You know, you really should be saving your legs for your Geographic Hat League game tomorrow instead of Sectionals.

Re: Mixed Sectional Updates

I hear Guard is starting to flow a bit better, playing well but not quite good enough to beat Joyride (13-10ish?).  If only they had Turbo to make them gel.

They did beat Traffic, and our now heading on to Moby Flick.  Pocket and Joyride are playing as expected I hear, and it looks like it will be a big battle for that 4th spot tomorrow.

Re: Mixed Sectional Updates

So I heard Good Times went 4-0 today.  Guard let me down big time, but I'm sure it's all Turbo's fault.  At first I blame it all on a weak-ass pool (hmmm, I wonder who's in charge of putting the pools together?), but upon further review it looks like they had to get through Joyride to do it.

I might get heckled a little bit, but they should be thanking me instead (I heard my sectionals predictions was quite the inspirational motivation).

It looks like if they did indeed go 4-0 they are guaranteed a Sectionals spot.  I suck.

For the cricital fourth spot:

Round 1 Sunday:  Guard Beats Possum 15 - 10
Round 1 Sunday:  Cutthroat beats Traffic

Round 2:  Guard beats Cutthroat

Round 3:  Guard vs. Joyride for the last bid (unless I'm mistaken?)

Re: Mixed Sectional Updates

Looks like James didn't bring quite enough "spark"--Joyride defeats Guard 15-13 in a nailbiter.

Top 4, from what I hear, and unsure of final rankings:  Good Times, Pocket Rockets, Irish Wristwatch, and Joyride.

Re: Mixed Sectional Updates

Pocket Rocket took the section 15-6 over Good Times.

Irish Wristwatch beat Joyride in the game to face the loser of the championship game.  Last I heard Irish Wristwatch (say that 5 times fast) was up (6-5?) on GT.

Re: Mixed Sectional Updates

Don't know what the final score was , but Irish Wristwatch did, indeed, take the second seed to regionals.

So bids go as follows:

1) Pocket Rocket
2) Irish Wristwatch
3) Good Times
4) Joyride

First Losers) Guard, Seize Them!  smile

I'll update all the official scores on the UPA and comment further after a good nights rest.

For now, my input here:

Not sure what happened to Guard.  If I remember right they were up 8-7 at half, but we won that game 15-9, which tells you a little about how the 2nd half went.  Did they slow down or did we speed up?

If GT was put in a position to do well this weekend, it's because we earned it over a long & successful season.  I guess you weren't aware that we won Hot Apple & Seaside, and made the finals at Sunflicker.  And although we got roughed up by Pocket Rockets & Irish Wristwatch today, we're actually 1-1 and 2-2 with those teams for the season.

Anyway, thanks for the *ahem* motivation.  It was nice to have our spot secured on Saturday.
