General YCC Information

The 2011 USA Ultimate Youth Club Championships (YCC) will be in Blaine, Minnesota on August 13 and 14. For more information on the event, please click here.

In 2011, Seattle will be sending five teams to YCC, each of which will carry 17-21 players:

  • U19 mixed team
  • U19 girls' team
  • U19 open team
  • U16 open team
  • U16 girls' team (will play in U19 girls' team division)

U19 Team Player Eligibility

To be eligible for the three U19 teams, players must meet the following requirements:

  1. Participated (i.e., played at least two games) in any of the following leagues:  A) the 2010 DiscNW Youth Club Draft Hat League, B) the 2011 Boys' Youth Club Draft Hat League, or C) the 2011 U22 Women's Draft Hat League.
  2. Must have been in grades 9-12 during the 2010-2011 academic year.
  3. Must not turn 19 prior to June 1, 2011.
  4. Must live in the Northwest Region during the months of May through August.

U16 Open Team Player Eligibility

To be eligible for the U16 open team, players must meet the following requirements:

  1. Must have completed at least grade 8 by the time of the tournament.
  2. Must not turn 16 prior to June 1, 2011.
  3. Must live in the Northwest Region during the months of May through August.

U16 Girls' Team Player Eligibility

To be eligible for the U16 girls' team, players must meet the following requirements:

  1. Participated (i.e., played at least two games) in any of the following leagues:  A) the 2010 DiscNW Youth Club Draft Hat League, or B) the 2011 U22 Women's Draft Hat League.
  2. Must have completed at least grade 8 by the time of the tournament.
  3. Must not turn 16 prior to June 1, 2011.
  4. Must live in the Northwest Region during the months of May through August.

Youth Club Championship Dues

Players who are selected for the DiscNW YCC teams will be required to pay all tournament-related fees by Friday, July 8. The cost will be $750-1,100 per player. The fee covers plane tickets and other travel at the tournament, tournament lodging, coaches' stipends, uniforms, and field rentals.

There will be limited scholarships available to cover YCC dues. Click here for the scholarship application. Scholarship applications are due by Friday, June 24.

All players trying out for YCC are required to attend all applicable tryout sessions:

There may be player cuts after each practice. This will be up to the coaches' discretion. Final team decisions will be made by the evening of Sunday, June 12.

YCC Team Practices

Practices will begin the week of Monday, June 13. We have Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays reserved for practices. Each team will practice 1-2 days per week.

Tryout Registration

Registration will remain open until 4pm on Friday, June 10.  Players who can attend only one tryout will be considered, but players who have attended both tryouts will have more opportunities to show their stuff to the coaches.
