Winter League offers a chance for established teams to get together and play during the colder months. The league provides an opportunity for teams to keep exercising in winter and to tune-up their games for spring.
Registration is open until Dec 15th.
Please note that this is an 18+ league only this season. See below for notes. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
UPDATE - January 18, 2017: Please contact the Winter League Coordinators at email@example.com and your opposing team's captains if you will not be able to field a team this weekend.
Winter league is a fairly casual opportunity for teams to get out and shake the cobwebs off their long hucks before the regular season starts. There are no standings or playoffs (because we don't keep score at Winter League games), but there are lots of opportunities to improve your skills in the winter weather.
All games will be played on synthetic turf field in Seattle on Saturdays at Jefferson, Lower Woodland Park, Magnuson, Delridge, Bobby Morris, and Washington Park. Click here for the rental permit.
Teams are encouraged to have big rosters in the winter to make sure that there are enough players at all games. Since we don't keep score there will be plenty of playing time to go around.
Online registration opens on November 25th. The team fee is $799.97 (including sales tax). Payment may be made online or via check payable to DiscNW, Attn: Winter League, PO Box 85112, Seattle, WA 98145. If paying by check, please list your team name on the memo line.
The registration deadline is December 15th. Make sure to register and pay before the deadline in order to secure your spot in the league. The earlier timeline will allow us to complete schedules before the holidays.
Looking for a Team?
Are you a player in search of a team for the season? Your best bet is to post a note on the bulletin boards. See this post for helpful hints.
We will use the USA Ultimate 11th Edition Rules (yes, you can call fouls in Winter League). We are not using the Contact Rule or any other experimental rules. The Captains Clause is in effect, so teams may choose to use experimental rules if mutually agreed upon by team captains.
See the League Specific Rules tab for complete rules.
