Middle School Girls' Spring League
Info
Basic Information
This girls' league is open to middle school-based teams (grades 6-8, public or private). This league began in 2009 and is designed both to A) meet the needs of girls' schools that want to play youth ultimate, and B) promote girls' ultimate at the middle school level. If the number of registrations permits, there will be divisions for skill and age.
Games are weekday afternoons at teams' fields.
Heather Ann Brauer is your League Coordinator.
Questions?

Headlines
Due to limited registrations, league fees have been waived for the 2010 season.
Official registration is now closed, but if you have a girls' team that would like to play 1-2 games (or more), please contact the League Coordinator Heather Ann Brauer at the email listed at the top of this page, and she will work you into the schedule.
We encourage all girls to attend our free U-Go! girls' clinics on April 6 and April 16. More information will be posted here when it is available.
Rules
There will be a mandatory coaches' meeting on a weeknight prior to the start of the league. Topics will include league logistics, schedules, rules, expectations of coaches, and management of head injuries.
General:
- This league uses the Official Rules of Ultimate, 11th Edition.
- All players on a team must attend the same school. Please review the DiscNW Eligibility Rules for more information. Exceptions must be approved by the Eligibility Committee.
- Players may play on only one team. Exceptions may be made for individual games (for health and safety) if agreed upon by both coaches.
- Teams are required to have an adult coach present at all games.
- Dogs are NOT allowed at any Seattle parks or athletic fields. It does not matter if your dog is leashed or unleashed. Please leave your pets at home, or we could lose our fields!
-
All league-specific rules will be outlined at the coaches' meeting. Minutes will be provided after the meeting.
Paperwork:
- All players must complete a DiscNW waiver prior to participating in any league games. There will be a new DiscNW waiver form for 2010, which will comply with the new Zackery Lystedt Law. The new waiver form will be emailed to all league coaches by February 12.
- All coaches will be required to sign a coaches' code of conduct, which outlines coaches' responsibilities while participating in DiscNW events, and which signifies that they have been educated as to the nature and risk of concussions and head injuries. This form will be provided by February 12.
- Team rosters may be required this year. More information will be provided by email by February 12.
