Description:

Playoffs are Saturday, November 6, at View Ridge Playfield

This is a new league for high school based teams.

  • It is an open league, meaning that there is no gender ratio.
  • The league will run from September 11 through November 3.
  • Games are Mondays and Wednesdays 3:30-5:00 pm at View Ridge Playfield, and Saturday mornings 9-11 am at Hamlin Park (except October 2, which will be 12-2).
  • The league fee is $65.

Registration will remain open throughout the season. Teams signing up after September 2 will be sent to the waitlist and will be contacted by the League Coordinator regarding scheduling and payment. We will make every effort to add late teams to the schedule but we cannot guarantee games for teams registering after September 2.

Information

  • Please print and bring the field permit with you to all of your games, in case of conflicts with other field users.

  • Please respect the fields.  If there is standing water or your cuts are creating big skid marks or divots, please cancel your game.

  • Bring your own cones to games.

Rules

General:

  1. All players on a team must attend the same school. Please review the DiscNW Eligibility Rules for more information. All exceptions must be approved by the Eligibility Committee.
  2. Teams are required to have an adult coach present at all games.
  3. Dogs are not allowed at any Seattle parks or athletic fields. It does not matter if your dog is leashed or unleashed. Please leave your pets at home, or we could lose our field privileges.

Paperwork:

Most teams will have minimal paperwork requirements since most players and coaches have already submitted paperwork for 2010.

  1. Please submit a Team Roster first.  We will review the roster and notify you if any of the players are missing a DiscNW waiver.
  2. If you know that some of your players are missing a DiscNW waiver, or if we notify you that waivers are missing, please submit the missing waivers promptly.
  3. If your coaches did not do so in the spring, please submit a Coaching Code of Conduct form, which outlines coaches' responsibilities while participating in DiscNW events, and which signifies that they have been educated as to the nature and risk of concussions and head injuries

Game Rules:

  1. This league uses the Official Rules of Ultimate, 11th Edition
  2. All games are to 13 with hard cap at 15.
  3. Two 70-second time outs per half.  Per the official rules, in overtime (when the score is tied 12-12), each team will have exactly one timeout, regardless of how many are remaining from regulation time.
  4. Soft cap at 15 minutes before the end of the round, hard cap at 5 minutes before the end of the round. Note that the length of rounds is different at View Ridge and Hamlin. At Hamlin the round is 120 minutes (soft cap at 105), and at View Ridge the round is 90 minutes (soft cap at 75).
  5. Girls and boys may play in the league, but there is no official gender ratio or requirement to match the other team's ratio.
