Why Volunteer?

Volunteering is great because it's a chance to give back to the the ultiamte community. Additionally, DiscNW volunteers get priority status when registering for events. This means that you will be more likely to get accepted from the waitlist for popular hat leagues. AND it means that your team will have a much better chance of getting into Potlatch! If you note the volunteers on your roster when registering your bid will tend to move to the top faster than others.

There are other benefits to volunteering. Most positions are compensated with a modest stipend (depending on how much work is done) and some DiscNW schwag (like a shirt, disc, DVD, lost-n-found items, etc.). Refreshments are provided at most DiscNW meetings to thank people for their time and hard work.

Volunteers who want to become more skilled can get reimbursement from DiscNW for some kinds of training. Food handling and first aid classes are approved for all volunteers. Other training can be reimbursed at the discretion of the Executive Director.
