WA/BC Mixed Sectionals (2007)
The 2007 UPA Fall Series returns to Burlington with the WA/BC Mixed Sectionals on September 23-24 at Skagit River Park in Burlington.
More details will be posted soon.
Online registration for team payments will open on August 6th. Teams must complete all UPA paperwork and submit a roster by August 24th.
Hall Walker is the WA/BC Mixed Sectional Coordinator and can be reached at .
Rosters must be finalized on the UPA online roster system by Tuesday, September 18th at 4pm. A total of 7 players may be added between August 24th and September 18th. There is no additional fee (as in past years) to add players during this window.
All players participating in the series need to print out a waiver (click here for .pdf) and send it in to the UPA. Players must also pay their UPA dues online here. Players that have not paid dues or turned in waivers by Sept 18th will be dealt with severely, or rather the sectional coordinator will harass the team contact incessantly.
If you have players that do not reside in the WABC section, then please read the rules about eligibility of players from other sections. In general, players who play in the mixed series cannot play in other divisions in the series (there is an exception for masters players - please read the UPA guidelines for additional detail).
After initial indications that we would be able to camp at the fields, we were denied this privilege. There are however many other nearby camping opportunities:
Bayview State Park (due west of town, approximately 15 minute drive time to SRP).
Burlington KOA (just north of the playfields, 5-10 minute drive time).
Other State Parks can be found here.
Or for the hotel-inclined: The Coucusa Inn is very close to the fields and has non-smoking rooms with 2 queen beds for $75 a piece. They have some other rooms as well but it sounds like things are going fast. 360-757-6044
The Holiday Inn Express also has rooms, although they are a bit more expensive. 360-755-7338
If you have floor space near the fields that you would be willing to offer, or you are interested in finding some floor space, please let the coordinator hallwalker at mac dot com know.
The format is posted on the score reporter.
If you have questions or suggestions about the schedule and seeding, please let me know. The UPA has a mandated format, so it is difficult to make changes, but if you have an issue we will see what we can do.
We will have a field for an additional consolation game on Sunday at 2pm between of 2 of the 3 teams not in the bracket play at that point.
More information will be posted as needed.
